Founded in 2018 by experts in cyber security and education
Secure Schools was founded in 2018 by Jill Foster, former Headteacher and trust CEO and Paul Alberry, cyber security compliance specialist. Together, Jill and Paul founded Secure Schools to tackle the growing challenge of cyber security in UK schools. Here they are, in the early days, at the Bett show.
Accelerated by the NCSC for Startups Programme
In 2019, Secure Schools was selected for the UK Government's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) programme, NCSC for Startups. This programme supports the growth of cyber companies that aim to bring new ‘better, faster and cheaper’ security products to market.
The first cyber security management app for schools
After graduating from the programme, the Secure Schools platform was built and launched in 2019. The first of its kind to provide schools with the tools and training they need to operate a successful cyber security programme and defend against cyber-attacks.
Growth during challenging times
During the challenges of 2020, Secure Schools focused on providing free cyber security resources to schools after the education sector experienced an unprecedented rise in cyber-attacks. Despite the challenges, Secure Schools were resilient and successfully grew its team.
Secure Schools is acquired by Wonde
In 2022, Secure Schools was acquired by the Wonde group. This acquisition provided the resources and capabilities to scale the startup to its full potential whilst the team remained aboard.
Growth and scaling up
As of 2023, Secure Schools has quadrupled its team, launched a new and improved version of their platform and undergone a rebrand. Here's the launch of our new branding at the Bett show in London.
Secure Schools launches in Australia and America
